There is a critical shortage of blood for our canine friends

Why is it important to donate?

Healthy donors are needed to give blood for the many pets who need it. A single donation can be used to save up to 4 lives. The blood is separated into two components, red blood cells and plasma. The components are given to patients suffering from a variety of injuries and illnesses.

How long will it take?

The blood collection process, will take about 3-5 minutes. Your pet will not be sedated and they enjoy cuddling and treats while donating. You can often be presen with your dog

How often can my pet donate?

Animals could donate blood without any problems as often as every 3 weeks. You will only be asked to come in every 2 months. Immediately after donations, the body starts to replace the blood that was given.

Who can donate?

The requirements vary by blood bank facilities. See the specific location you are interested in for details.
